Noah Materials Needed

17" wood doll kit*
Acrylic paint*:  Fleshtone, Black, Buttermilk, Raw Sienna
Batting*:  14 1/2" x 35" (Robe), 7" x 9-1/2" (Sleeves), 8" x 35" (Fringe)
3" x 24" cranberry felt (Shawl)
1/8 yard each color cotton fabric:  blue print, cranberry print, tan check, grey dot, golden yellow print, dark brown print, light brown print.
Fusible adhesive*
6" piece of jute twine
3/8" buttons, 4 brown, 5 blue
2" x 3" wood rectangle
.05 black marker
Pink powdered makeup blush
Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
Sewing machine
Household iron

Thick craft glue
Heavy Duty thread, needle, scissors

Noah Instructions
Trace and cut out patterns, follow directions.  Or use the Accu-Cut® Roller Die Cutting Machine and dies to cut shapes.

1.  Paint and assemblePaint head and hands Fleshtone.  Paint doll base Raw Sienna.  See Figure 1.  Insert undrilled end of large dowel in base.   Slide small dowel through hole in large dowel with equal dowel on each side.   Glue head on top of large dowel.  Glue one hand on each end of small dowel.   Rub cheeks with blush.  Dot eyes with Black paint.  Paint sign Buttermilk.  When dry, shade edges with Raw Sienna.

2. RobeCut a 14 1/2" x 35" piece of batting.  See Figure 2.  Measure 6" in from short edges of batting.  Cut two 3" armhole slits down from top edge.  Fold sleeve in half lengthwise. Glue a 1/4" seam alone raw edges.  When dry, turn right side out.  fold back end of sleeve 1-1/2".  fold 1-1/2" again.  Repeat for other sleeve.  Set aside.

3.  Hair & Beard FringeFold the 8" x 35" piece of batting in half, to 4" x 35".  Cut fringe 3/8" apart, leaving 1/4" uncut at top of fold.  Option:  Use fringe die and Accu-Cut machine.

4. AppliquePreheat iron to medium setting.  Iron fusible adhesive to backs of all fabric pieces.  See photo.   Position, then iron arks and animals in place across bottom of robe.  Iron tiny hearts randomly above ark and animals.  Dot animals' eyes with marker.  Note:   If using the Accu-Cut machine, cut the ark from all three appropriate fabrics.   Cut apart as shown on pattern page.  Applique one top, middle, and bottom close to each other.
5.  Dress NoahSlide a sleeve on each arm.  Glue raw edges of sleeves on body dowel.  With heavy-duty thread, gather stitch 1/4" from top edge of robe, leaving a 10" length of thread at beginning and end.  Slip arms through slits in robe.  Pull up threads tightly.  Knot and clip thread at back of doll's neck.  Glue robe closed at back seam.  Glue buttons on robe among hearts.   Cut fringe on short ends of shawl, 3/8" wide and 2" long.  Drape shawl over Noah's shoulders.
6.  Attach fringe. See Figure 3.  Cutting fringe as needed, start at chin and glue folded edge around face in a full circle.  Repeat for second row.   Glue three rows of fringe across back of head.  For mustache, cut three strips of fringe apart.  Glue centers of strips together.  Glue center of strips on head.
7.  SignFuse two tiny hearts on opposite corners of sign.   Write saying on sign with marker.  Glue a blue button on sign.  For hanger, glue ends of jute on back of sign.  Hang sign over doll's hand.  Glue in place.

1.  Paint and assemblePaint head Fleshtone, hands Black and Base Forest Green.  Dot eyes Black, then rub cheeks with blush.  Assemble as for Noah.

2.  Dress SantaPrepare robe, sleeves and fringe hair/beard in the same way as Noah.  See photo.   Fuse appliques in place across bottom edge of robe.  Dot bear eyes and color noses with marker,  Assemble sleeves, robe, and fringe on doll.
3.  HatOverlap short edges of felt to create a cone hat.  Glue seam.  Trim bottom edge of hat evenly.  Glue hat on doll.  Pull hat tope to side and glue in place.  Glue jingle bell on hat tip.
4.  FinishBend ends of garland over hands.  Tie 1/2" strips of green fabric onto garland.  Glue pine cones and berries on garland.
