  • Needle

  • Black Embroidery Floss
  • Ten Small Black Pony Beads
  • Two Small Pink Pony Beads
  • Pink Powdered Blush
  • Polyester Stuffing
  • Poly Pellets
  • 1/2" Wide Fabric Strips
  • Two 1-1/2" Silk Sunflowers
  • ZIG® .05 Black Millenium™ Marker
  • #8 Flat Paint Brush
  • Lo-Temp Glue Gun and Glue

DecoArt® Americana™ Acrylic Paint:

  • Buttermilk
  • Raw Sienna
  • Hauser Dark Green
  • Titanium White
  • Yellow Ochre
  • True Ochre
  • Lamp Black
Instructions:
  1. Cut two Stuffin body shapes and four ear shapes from Grey and Lt. Brown felt for each critter.  Cut a Grey cat and Brown bear using the Super Jumbo Stuff die, and Grey cat and brown bear using the Jumbo Stuffin die.
  2. Pin wrong sides of ears together, then stitch around ears 1/4" from edges, leaving the bottom open.  Turn ears right side out.   Position raw edges of ears at a slight angle on the head portion of one body, then baste in place (refer to illustration).  Position remaining body on top of body and ear unit, right sides together, then pin.  Stitch around body 1/4" from edge, leaving body open.  Clip body seam under arms.
  3. Open bottom of body to approximately 1-1/2" from bottom.  Fill bottom with poly pellets.  Whipstitch body opening closed.
  4. Stitch a running stitch completely around the neck then pull up thread tightly and tie securely at back of neck.
  5. Stitch bead eyes and nose in place with heavy duty thread.  Stitch mouth with embroidery floss.   If desired, add embroidery floss whiskers to cat.  Rub cheeks with blush.

Paint Wood Pieces for Bears:

  1. Beehive - Yellow Ochre.  Shade with Raw Sienna.
  2. Ribbon Banner - Buttermilk.  Shade edges with Raw Sienna.
  3. Bees - Titanium White.  Paint body True Ochre, stripes and dots Lamp Black.  Shade wings with Raw Sienna.

Paint Wood Pieces for Cats:

  1. Sign - Titanium White.  Shade edges with Raw Sienna.
  2. Fish - Buttermilk.  Shade bottom with Shading Flesh and top with Hauser Dark Green.  Dot eyes Lamp Black.

Bucket and Wheel:

  1. Wash with water-thinned Raw Sienna.  Paint bucket label with Buttermilk.  Shade with Raw Sienna.

Finish:
Add "stitch lines" and lettering with the Black marker.  Coil two 3" pieces of wire for "buzzing bees".  Glue bees to wire.  Glue 2" pieces of jute to the three fish and to the back of the sign.  Refer to photo, then attach the embellishments to critters with the glue gun.
